One of my favorite things to teach is PENGUINS! There is just so much fun involved with teaching students about penguins.

We started off out week by filling out at KWL chart. I made this simple one that allows the students to draw a picture of what they know, wonder and learn. Visit my TPT store to get your free copy of this KWL penguin chart.

One of my favorite thing to do with my students is directive drawing and I am always looking for a new way to change it up. This time inspiration came from the book Penguins Love Color. Then we used oil pastels and liquid water color to make these adorable colorful penguins.

Anytime I can add hands on learning I am all for bring that into my classroom. This is such a simple yet fun penguin science experiment that I have done probably for the last 3 years. All you need is a flat pan add water and freeze. We then pick different items from the classroom and see if the will slide just like penguins! After we do the experiment I always leave the ice out for center time for more extended play.

Hope this gave you few ideas to take back to your classroom. Happy Teaching.
