Why I love at home workouts and why I have done them for the last 9 years

Marriage, fulltime teachers, motherhood, work from home mom, and all the season in between I have been getting my exercises done at home. Why? Well let me start by saying I always hated the time I wasted going to and from the gym. So if I wanted to workout for 30 minutes I would have to account for the time it took me to drive, park, workout (hopefully the gym wasn’t too packed) and the drive back home. So instead of just taking 30 minutes it might take a whole hour for me to complete all the steps.

Time

As a full time working teacher ( with a second job) I wanted to prioritize my fitness and health journey. I needed something that I could completely quickly, but was also an effective workout. Now as a work from home mom I have even less time, but want to be able to show my kids the importance of moving your body.

Space

When I started working out at home, it was in a tiny apartment living room. I had minimal weights that I used ( I think 5lbs and 10lbs). I moved the coffee table and got it done and had results too. At one point I was working out in our kitchen in our first house because it had the most room. Now I have a basement in which I have the space to keep my weights out and even have a treadmill now.

Results

No matter what stage of life before kids, post partum journey or even while pregnant. I am in I have seen results from following programs from my library of workout programs. It might be a lifting program or a yoga I can seen progress in my mobility or strength or weight loss.
