Teacher Appreciation Week

I have the privilege of not only being a preschool teacher, but also the assistant director of the child care center I work out.  Childcare can often seen like a thankless job, but we all touch the lives of not only the children but of the families (we have the same families sometimes for 5 + years).  So I do my best  (along with my director and friend) to do a little extra something for our teachers.

We try to think of little things to do for the every day, so here is a round up of every thing we do this week. (check back everyday to see what we did this year

🙂 )

Day 1

Our teachers walked in on Monday to our main hallway to this sign calling them all ‘Superheros’

As they walked down the hall they each had their own superhero logo that will stay in the hallway all week.

To go with our superhero theme I found these cute Thank You’s that incorporate EOS lip balm on ETSY.

Day 2

Today was ice cream day!! My friend came up with with cure little saying to  tell the teachers that there was ice cream for them. We provided little ice cream cups, chocolate syrup and sprinkles.

Day 3

Today we provided our teachers with SUPERFOODS! We teach our kids to eat right, and so should we so we gave the teachers a simple banana and apple today. The gift doesn’t have to be super big its just the idea that you did something to make your teaches feel special.

My friend made up this cute poem to go with our superhero theme  and our superfoods. It is super cute.  I am going to try and get all of there fun printables we  used up as PDF so you can uses them to tell your teachers how special they all to you.

Day 4

Today the teachers got 2 treats. Nutella and  face make. I nutella didn’t really fit the superhero theme, but I couldn’t think of something that did until my director/ awesome friend came up with the  following awesome idea!

FACEMASKS!!! Of course, how we didn’t think of it before is beyond me! She came up with this super cute and simple saying ” Not all superheros wear capes, some wear masks!” I mean how cute and simple!

Day 5

So some how is the craziness that is a Friday I forgot to take a picture of what I gave the staff on Friday. It was simply a can of soup that said they were  ” Souper”. Get it!!  hehe.

I love being able to shower our teachers this week with love and appreciation. As much as I love planning the cute little gifts, the best part of this week is the “shout out wall” I e-mail all the families in our center and ask them to help me surprise  the  teachers with notes of appreciations, pictures from their children, or a story that they loved to hear about school.  All week long families add to the board and by the end of the week it is filled with a sorts of pictures, thank yous, and stories to remind us just how much of an impact we make not only on the children’s lives, but their family’s life too.

I hope you came up with a few idea to show your teacher how much they mean to you! Can’t wait until next years teachers appreciation week!
